O meu primeiro computador pessoal foi um Apple, ainda dos velhinhos, quadrados. Durante anos só escrevi em Apple, só trabalhei em Apple, o meu primeiro laptop foi também um Apple. Derrotado pela penetração da Microsoft no mundo, permaneci fiel no coração à Apple. Um dia destes vou tratar de reatar o namoro até porque estão cada vez mais bonitos. Continuo a achar que funcionam melhor, crasham menos, e sobretudo são, ainda hoje, mais user friendly que qualquer rival. Deixo aqui um texto referencial da Wired sobre o assunto. According to Gordon, the only other companies mentioned by young people as much as Apple are Nike, Target, VW and Sony.
"Apple comes up as a favorite brand, something they're saving up to buy, even a fashion accessory," she said.
Gordon, herself a Mac user, said Apple appeals to young people because celebrities they perceive as cool use their products, like musicians, filmmakers and designers. She also said Apple's slick advertising contributes to that image, as do its upscale retail stores.
"(Apple) came out with the first cool-looking computer that matched (young people's) sensibilities," she said. "The iMac was (Apple's) entrée into youth culture. It took them to a whole other place in youth culture. The iPod is another cool product from a cool company."
