JORNALISMO NA NET: OS CONSELHOS DA BBC
Os media podem variar, mas os princípios básicos devem manter-se. Ora leiam lá as linhas seguintes e contem se acham que é isto que se passa na maioria das redacções portuguesas: «Mike Smartt, Editor-in-Chief of BBC News Online reminded journalists that they can “take old ideas and give them a new coat of paint.” There are many practices from traditional media that are easily and effectively adopted for online. Smartt encouraged journalists to stick to the basics of good editorial thinking, writing and editing, and he said that online newsrooms could be structured along the lines of traditional media. He encouraged editors to let ideas flow up from the ranks of journalists who are closest to day-to-day content, and said top editors should spend their time on the more strategic questions of technology and how content can be published efficiently. Smartt outlined the BBC's three-stage production process that includes a ticker, four-line brief and full story, and their long-range vision of publishing to multiple platforms from one content publishing system (CPS). In the future, Smartt hopes that BBC interactive journalists will be able to turn out stories for multiple platforms by entering text just once into the system. The BBC Interactive currently publishes to multiple platforms, including CEFAX, an analog television-based information service, the web and interactive television. ».
